I have a good feeling about tonight’s game — I saw a homeless man walking down Sunset with an Indians’ hat on, so I figure it’s a sign.
Granted, I can’t imagine anyone from or in Cleveland is watching it right now — I know I’m watching the Cavs game.

This line-up is unreal. We had 9 hits against the left handed Saunders, all but 1 of which are from the right handed hitters. And -shocker — that 1 hit was from Choo.

if we are seriously behind this whole retooling plan then when do we add Austin Kearns to the laundry list of potential July trade players along with Peralta, Wood and Westbrook? He’s still only got 44 ABs but at least he contributing when no one else is on a consistent basis.

At this point, I wonder if we could even afford to deal Kearns at mid-season — we might need him too badly next year! Okay, I’m only have joking.
Nice night for the Tribe, but tomorrow will be the real test. This team can have a great offensive performance, but they need to do it regularly. Grady worries me more and more.
At this point, though, you have to give credit to Shapiro for making the deals he did in the off season. Kearns has been more than anyone could have expected, not just by his performance, but by allowing us to then move guys throughout the line-up. With Kearns in the outfield and Marte at first, that frees up LaPorta to DH and lets us sit Hafner against lefties. And there’s no question that Redmond has been a great addition, just by what he’s done with Carmona.
If Peralta, LaPorta, and Marson get hits tomorrow, then we could be on to something.

not to mention that if we lose tomorrow we will have gone 3-6 on this road trip. Absolutely putrid. Kearns has done everything you could have asked from a part time/4 OF player: he has without question played his way into the lineup every day while his so-called platoon mates have floundered. I am a little concerned with Hafner only b/c he looked pretty decent in spring training. Yes, it’s still early and failures this early in the season are undoubtedly magnified but we all still notice the struggles of Hafner, LaPorta and Sizemore among others.

that’s a big “if”

A huge “if.”
Here’s a question that will be answer most likely before anyone has a chance to respond: who do we sit today?
I’m guessing/assuming that Branyan and Hafner will be back in the line-up, which means Acta has to choose between LaPorta or Kearns. On one hand, Kearns is currently our best hitter. On the other hand, a guy we have a vested interested started warming up, so sitting him as he’s just getting going might not be the best idea.
I guess you have to go with Kearns, because you can’t baby LaPorta.
