Everybody form a line

The last couple years, I’ve been posting the Indians’ lineups in this blog, because I’m just an old-fashioned kind of guy. Alas, that format has quickly become archaic, and I’m seeing less and less value in rushing toward the keyboard to pass along a lineup that can be more efficiently tweeted to you and yours.

So let’s just go with that, all right? If you’re not following me on Twitter, here’s another reason to do so. I’ll tweet the Tribe’s daily lineup as quickly as I can. CastroTurf, meanwhile, will remain a reservoir for news and minutiae.

I’m sorry, but I hate the Twitter feed. I’d rather have all the info later, but parsed into an actually readable format. I am inebriated with your verbosity, AC, and 140 characters doesn’t do you justice. Plus, being bugged dozens of times a day is far worse for my productivity than reading an article and a couple of blog posts.
Please reconsider!!

I think he is getting a kickback from the Twitter because now I joined the Twitter.

I feel at time like I am the only one on the face of this earth that doesn’t “Twitter” heck I don’t use FB, Myspace, LJ, etc. Blogs like this are perfect for me. But if it’s easier for you then I have to accept that.

It’s Spring Training for the writers, too, destiny. I’ll see how this goes this month and see what I want to do in-season.

It’s really more a matter of logistics than anything else. Going to the clubhouse to get the lineup then heading back to the work room or press box to post it costs me some of that clubhouse access time that we value so much.

Now hold on… how do you tweet without a blackberry/iPhone/something modern? Can’t you just type a paragraph or two on the fly and and post it just as easily?

I can Tweet on my Blackberry, but unfortunately I can’t post to this blog off my Blackberry. If I could, this wouldn’t be an issue at all.

I enjoy your tweets during the games, AC, so I’ve got no problems with this move. I would suggest going back to the old way for the regular season, though, both because I don’t think you’ll have the same issues (you don’t actually have to leave the clubhouse to get that during the season, do you?) and because it makes a good central location for us to discuss the game.

I play fantasy baseball and usually have a few Tribesmen on my team, so I’m okay without them here. I don’t Tweet so it’s just as well.

I’m now on Twitter. You may commence.
