I’m so excited.
Hey, we can still hit 90 wins if we go 54-15 the rest of the way.
I went to the Columbus Clippers game last night and had more fun at the game than at any Indians game I’ve been to for over a year.
Of course, maybe I had so much fun because I got to watch Matt LaPorta go 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, and a bases loaded single for 2 RBI. I got to see Andy Marte hit a 3-run home run and come around to score once more on the way to raising his BA to .320. I saw Wes Hodges go 2-for-4 and Wyatt Toregas go 3-for-4 with an RBI to raise his BA to .294.
I’ll never wish for a player to get injured, but if Peralta were to come down with the trademark Cleveland Indians “shoulder soreness” (or even the trademark Cleveland Browns staph infection) right now, I wouldn’t be crying about the future of our team. Trading Peralta would be a knee-jerk reaction, but I desperately want to see Marte play in Cleveland for the rest of the year (never thought I’d say that…. ever).
7-8-9 hitters of Francisco, Carroll and Shoppach is not going to get it done. Man, I hope Jamey starts hitting so we can move him for something or else this situation is (still) a joke.
