something tells me that this will be our ‘consistent’ lineup, not only on days in which Lee pitches but for the rest of the month. Even in the future you could see this lineup with Cabrera at SS, perhaps Hafner at DH upon occassion.

I would bet the Cliff Lee is smart enough to NOT let Albert Pujols be the only thing that beats him tonight.

Here’s a toast to listening to the game in the radio rather than listening to those ESPN pundits.

Sadly, since I let my MLB.tv subscription lapse, I have no choice but to listen to those ESPN pundits. It’s pretty much a lose/lose, as each team has a resident dunce, be it Joe Morgan or Steve Phillips.
If I could bargain with Wedge, I would offer this deal: when Grady and Cabrera get back, go ahead and make Shoppach your every day catcher. But, if you do that, then that means DeRosa is the every day second baseman and Martinez is the every day first baseman. I’ll put up with .200 hitting, swing for the fences Shoppach in the #9 spot if it means we get a consistent line-up more often than not (Choo, Sizemore, Francisco, Peralta, Cabrera, DeRosa, Martinez, Shoppach going across). And I’d add an asterisk to that deal that would require Gimenez to get 1 to 2 starts behind the plate, in preparation for him being the transition guy that gets us to the eventual arrival of Santana.
I’d take that deal, but it would never be offered (or even considered).

wow.. very nice post thanks!… Angel Blue Eyes ;-)
