The team cannot use Vinnie Chulk to keep a lead against the Yankees. Once again, the pitching staff has lost a game that cannot be lost when there is a two run lead that late in the game. There is no excuse for that. If it is done, the poor middle relief is exposed. Despite work load, EW has to go with Perez and Betancourt leading up to Kerry. Chulk is not proven. Despite recent travesties, Perez and Betancourt have succeeded before. The true problem is a lack of decent middle relief. Where was a Dolan payroll in the off-season to provide EW with something to work with? We have a winning offense. We need middle relief to back it up.
