Cannizaro reassigned

The Indians’ spring roster is down to 35, as non-roster invitee Andy Cannizaro was reassigned to Minor League camp this morning.

The 30-year-old Cannizaro had two starts at shortstop this spring. He batted .227 (5-for-16) with two walks and two strikeouts in 16 games total.

Have you ever considered using some of the “newer” stats for ballplayers. I see the .227 AVG and it seems so bad, but realistically a walk is just as good as a single. OBP is nice because it shows a 7-18 clip and a .388 AVG… just a suggestion. I mean, he gets sent down either way but I think a lot of people underestimate the walk (and hit by pitch) bases a player contributes. What was your opinion on how he played? Who did he face (A-ball lifers or AAA/MLB ready pitchers?). Come on man, you are our eyes there… I need better info then AVG, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.

Nice to have the reports back Anthony. Great Job, No matter what other people
