Sowers gets the call
Jeremy Sowers will get called up for Saturday’s start against the Yankees, Eric Wedge confirmed. Sowers was 0-2 with a 3.18 ERA in 22 2/3 innings pitched over four starts at Buffalo.
Wedge didn't say if Sowers is the "permanent" guy to fill in for Jake Westbrook, while Westbrook is on the DL. They'll take this start by start, apparently. Sowers will be working on regular rest. Aaron Laffey, the other candidate for the job, would have had two extra days' rest, had he gotten the nod.
The Indians will make the official roster move Saturday. For now, it's very likely Ben Francisco will be sent back down.

I like Laffey a lil more, but hopefully Sowers can get it done.
Sowers will be fine. Besides, it’s better than sending Laffey out on seven days rest. Taking it start-to-start will help too. If Sowers pitches poorly, Laffey takes the next spot.
